How You Can Help:
Volunteer
Our programs are run by volunteers, with financial support from bike sales, contributions, and grants. Consider donating some of your time to help in the shop or with our other programs. To make our programs a reality, we host groups from the campuses, as well as individuals who contribute over 200 hours per month to help make our programs a reality.
In addition to our extensive repair facilities at our Mill Street location, we have a repair shop at Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City. Thanks to their assistance, we are able to increase the reconditioning of bikes for holidays and for Burning Man bikes throughout the year. |
Donate your Bike(s) or Bike Equipment/ Parts
Donate your old bike for us to recondition. Bring your bike(s) either to our shop during work hours, or to any fire station in Washoe County (except Incline Village). Donation receipts are only available at the bike shop. Thanks to the Washoe County, Reno and Sparks Fire Departments, we are able to accept your bikes at their stations 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have volunteers who go to the stations on a regular basis to pick up the bikes and deliver them for repair to our shop on Mill Street.
We also do bike drives in partnership with businesses, schools or organizations in the community. Contact us if you’re interested in hosting such an event. |
Contribute
Make a financial contribution to the Kiwanis Bike Program. We use 100% of such contributions for helmets, bike parts, and for our education programs in the shop and in the community. Just $25 sponsors a refurbished bike and helmet for a child, and $50 provides a teen with a full-sized bike and helmet.
You can donate here, or by mailing a check to 561 Keystone #246, Reno, NV 89503 or come by the shop and see us. We would be happy to give you a tour. Please make all checks payable to Kiwanis Bike Program or click donate below. |
